More Than Bass

Roald Smit is a personal trainer who works at Sportlab. He reached me after he was scammed by someone on Fiverr who “designed” a logo for them. After that, a friend (who knows me) told him to contact me for a new logo because that logo on Fiverr was stolen from someone else (almost).

After having small research on what dance logos look like, compared to each other, it was clear for me to include something that’s bold, strong, and simple. After I drew some sketches, Roald was very satisfied with them, so the next few iterations are about fine-tuning the logo and it will be ready for their launch.

I made two logos. The first logo has several elements. First of all, the diamond means there is the past that they leave it behind and head to the next chapter. It is a direction to the right, meaning changing to something else. Also, the word “than” could translate as > for example, Apple > Android. Also, it reminds me of Hillary Clinton's logo.

The alternative one is supposed to have four elements because More than Bass contains four members. It is an improved version of the Fiverr logo. Fortunately, the group chose the best logo.

After great feedback from the client, the color pattern still needs to change because it does look like the colors from Q-Dance. I made various types of gradients so they can choose which gradient looks the best that fits their group. Furthermore, they want the logo to look a bit more hardstyle, and add a rougher logo.

In the end, they like the logo and the process went very smoothly because we were on the same page.

More than Bass isn't just a hardstyle event organization, they deliver more than just music.
They are changing the concept by creating a unique vibe.
This young organization is willing to change and together they are going to achieve their vision.

I’m happy to have the opportunity to create a logo for More Than Bass. This logo differentiates other hardstyle logos by adding gradient color and it's more simplistic. Thus, it has some meaningful elements behind this logo.
