It was difficult to find an internship after COVID has passed. Luckily, finding a remote job/internship had increased. After having a consult with a colleague at Snakeware, he led me to talk with someone from TNO. They were looking for an intern that could improve the design of Child healthcare.
So far, digital innovations in the JGZ are fragmented and data are not exchangeable. For example, there are (competing) data suppliers of digital records and different apps. Moreover, due to the local character of the JGZ, organizations draw their plan for setting up the ICT infrastructure. The JGZ also experiences many digital innovations as user-unfriendly due to a lack of personalization and the innovations do not match their work processes. It is, therefore essential to improve existing digital innovations in the JGZ better align with each other. This will allow healthcare providers and parents to be more involved in the JGZ and can offer personalized support.
The first version of the SRM has been piloted with two JGZ organizations. The experiences of professionals were positive. The desire is to develop the technology further and roll it out. However, which further developments will be given priority is not clear. It is also important to determine how user-friendliness, interaction, look-and-feel, and content, will remain sufficient during further development.
TNO wants the Smart Guideline module to offer decision support to JGZ professionals. To contribute to the quality of care. The target group sees the added value in using it because of its new functionalities and good user-friendliness. user-friendliness.
The entire design process is guided using user-centered design at an academic level. The designer will focus on the wishes and needs of the user. Throughout the process, research and design methods have been applied to get closer to the wants and conditions of the target audience. Ultimately, the function is evaluated and the cycle is re-examined. The top three are converted into high-fidelity prototypes. During the design phase attention is paid to the 10 heuristics devised by Nielsen for usability. A total of six prototypes were created, three for Topicus and three for Gino. The conclusion can be drawn that the majority see the added value in the new functionalities offered, especially the function 'Guideline LPK' and 'Follow advice or reasoned deviation' more than 90% of the respondents agree that it contributes to the development of the SRM. The function 'Decision support based on data collected by the JGZ and parent themselves' only helps if the parent is involved in the height growth and development of the child.
